PhD programme ? Forest and Nature for Society
Forest and Nature for Society is an EU-funded 3 year PhD programme. It will fund 8-10 studentships every year to work with supervisors at 2 out of 5 of the institutions listed below on topics in the general area of sustainable forest and nature management. Students can come from anywhere in the world. Please look at the website for more details (http://www.fonaso.eu/AboutFONASO.aspx). In the first instance students need to chose a topic from the general areas listed on the site and write a short synopsis. I'd suggest the if you are serious about applying that you make contact with potential supervisors at the relevant institution.
For example I am very keen to hear from students interested in conservation biology, monitoring, payments for ecosystem services, traditional knowledge, sustainable harvesting. If you want to get in touch directly please send me a CV and a brief idea of what you are interested in doing for a PhD (ideally with reference to one of the topics mentioned on the website). I encourage anyone interested in conservation-related PhDs to look at this opportunity!
The institutions involved:
University of Copenhagen, Denmark
The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden Bangor University, UK Dresden University, Germany University of G?ttingen, Germany AgroParisTech, France University of Padova, Italy
