Subject: Cornell University Post-Doctoral position
POST-DOCTORAL position available at Cornell University with Bob Johnston
for field and lab studies on golden hamsters, including behavioral
ecology, activity cycles and foraging, social behavior and chemical
communication, functions of scent marking and, if desired, work on the
neural mechanisms of behavior. During the spring of 2005 we carried out
the first-ever field studies of golden hamsters in southern Turkey. A
major responsibility for this post-doc is to take the lead in further
developing the field project and coordinating with our collaborators from
Germany and Turkey. We have already obtained surprising data on daily
activity cycles and foraging behavior and we will continue and extend
this work. In addition we plan to obtain data on social behavior and
communication by odors and scent-marking through observation and
experiments in the field. Please send enquiries or application material
to Robert E. Johnston, Dept. of Psychology, Cornell University, Ithaca
NY 14853 or rej1@cornell.edu.
