Applications are invited for a University Lectureship in the
Department of Genetics, from
scientists who have demonstrated the potential to become leaders in
their field of
research. The Department particularly wishes to attract candidates
within the areas of
quantitative, population or evolutionary genetics. The successful
candidate will interact
with existing members of the Department in both research and
teaching. In addition, the
research environment of Cambridge offers opportunities to establish
collaborative links
with members of other biological science Departments, Faculties
(including Mathematics
and Medicine) and nearby institutes such as the European
Bioinformatics Institute and the
Sanger Centre. As a University Lecturer you will be expected to play
a full role in the
teaching and research activities of the Department, including the
training of post-graduate
students and post-doctoral Fellows, and undergraduate teaching in
the Faculty of Biology.
Appointments made at University Lecturer level will be for a
probationary period of five
years, with appointment to the retiring age thereafter.
