SUMMER PLACEMENT- LABORATORY AND FIELD ASSISTANT CABI E-UK

POST: Laboratory/field Assistant

GRADE: tbc

SALARY: tbc

DURATION: 13 WEEKS

Preferred start date: Tuesday 1st June 2010.

A laboratory/field assistant is required to provide scientific support

on a number of projects researching the ecological impact and biological

control of invasive plant species. The laboratory/field assistant will

spend the majority of their time sorting and identifying invertebrate

samples collected from sites, maintaining plants under greenhouse

conditions and culturing insects.

MAIN DUTIES

1. Assist in the sorting, identification and processing of invertebrate

samples.

2. Maintenance and propagation of plants.

3. Maintenance of invertebrate cultures.

4. Data entry.

5. Field collection of ecological data.
